In the steel sheet piling system, steel sheets are driven into pre-drilled holes in the ground around the perimeter of an excavation site to form a wall around it. This wall keeps out water and prevents any potential collapse from occurring due to shifting soils or other external forces acting on it from outside sources.
As well as providing a greater degree of protection than lagging boards, steel sheet piling systems are also much quicker to install than soldier pile systems. This makes them ideal for large-scale construction jobs when time is tight.
